I will give you a time machine like backup shell script using rsync

I will give you my shell script which uses rsync to do incremental backups ( like timemachine ). The first backup is full and the subsequent backups will be just incremental. Obviously you won't get timemachine like UI. But the backup functionality is comparable. You can put this script in crontab and control how often you want to backup.
