FAQ
What software do you use for the designs?
I primarily use solidworks for CAD modelling. I can export to most common formats (STEP, IGES, STL, DXF, DWG) that can be used with other CAD softwares like Fusion 360, AutoCad etc.
What file formats will I receive?
Depending on your package: Step files (Editable 3D model), STL (for 3D printing), DXF (Flat pattern for laser cutting), and PDF technical drawings. Let me know if you need a specific format that isn't listed here.
Is the design ready for manufacturing?
Basic and standard packages are generally meant for visualization and concept purposes. The premium package contains the full manufacturing-ready files with proper tolerances, bend allowances, and a laser-cut-ready flat pattern.
What if I don't like the initial design?
That's what revisions are for. Each package includes a set number of revisions (see package details) so we can refine the design together until it matches your vision.
Do I need to provide Specifications, or can you help me figure them out?
Either works. If you already have dimensions, components, or specific requirements, please do send them over. However, if you are starting from the scratch, I'll ask a few questions upfront such as device size, internal components, mounting needs, environment etc) to guide the design.
Can you design for materials other than sheet metal?
My core focus for this gig is sheetmetal enclosures, but I can also work with basic plastic housing concepts. Message me before ordering if you have a specific material in mind.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, happy to sign an NDA before we start if you'd like to product your work.
Will I own full rights to the final design?
Definately, once the project is complete and paid for, you own full rights to the design files.
What if there's a language barrier between us?
I'm multilingual. I speak English, French, Arabic, and Hausa. If you can't speak any of these languages, I'll try to translate as close as possible to understand you. And if I can't honestly understand your request, I'll politely decline your request.
