About this gig
Need to change an STL, fix a broken one, or turn it into a CAD file you can actually edit? I rebuild STL and OBJ meshes as clean CAD models and STEP files, and I repair and modify meshes for 3D printing.
What I can do
- Convert STL, OBJ or 3MF to editable STEP, IGES or SolidWorks (a real rebuild, not a mesh wrapped in a STEP file)
- Modify parts: resize, add or move holes, change features, add text, fit new hardware
- Repair broken meshes: holes, non-manifold edges, flipped normals, thin walls
- Split large models for printing and add pins or joints
- Prepare print-ready STL or 3MF with the right clearances
What you get
STEP, IGES, SLDPRT, STL and 3MF files, plus a PDF drawing on request.
I focus on mechanical and functional parts. Organic models (characters, sculptures) can be repaired but not rebuilt as parametric CAD.

Senior mechanical design engineer with 4+ years designing UAV airframes and mechanical products, from first sizing to parts the shop can build. I deliver native CAD, STEP, PDF and DWG/DXF drawings, BOMs and design reports. Recent work: an ISR quadcopter released to manufacturing, a tilt-wing VTOL demonstrator, a river delivery hovercraft, an outdoor kiosk enclosure and steel parts rebuilt from 3D scans. FAQ
What's the difference between a conversion and a rebuild?
A direct conversion wraps the mesh triangles in a STEP file, so you can't change dimensions. A rebuild recreates the part with real features you can edit.
Which formats do you accept and deliver?
In: STL, OBJ, 3MF, PLY, STEP. Out: STEP, IGES, SLDPRT, STL, 3MF, X_T.
Can you edit models from Thingiverse or Printables?
Yes, if the licence allows remixing. I can resize, combine or add features.
Do you work on characters or sculptures?
I can repair them, but I rebuild only mechanical and functional parts as parametric CAD.
How fast can you deliver?
Simple fixes within 24 hours; most edits in 2 to 3 days.
Will the file print correctly?
Yes. I check it's watertight, then check wall thickness and clearances for your printer (FDM, SLA or SLS).
