Do I get a prototype at the end of this gig?
No, this gig lays the groundwork for us (or any design firm) to design your idea in 3D. Because no two ideas are alike, it's impossible to flat-rate quote these. In general, smaller devices with fewer parts are cheaper to design than larger products with more parts.
What about my idea is being evaluated?
We look at your idea from multiple angles, pulling from decades of design experience. 1) What is required for it to work? 2) How will that solution be physically produced? 3) Can it be produced at a cost that is reasonable 4) What (if any) compromises would be necessary to improve items 1-3?
How much will it cost to make?
Each product we've designed has had different requirements, use cases, and budgets. The purpose of this evaluation phase is to help all parties understand the product's needs and accurately evaluate next steps. We provide budget estimates as part of our final deliverables
