1. What is a complete specification/non-provisional patent?
A complete specification/non-provisional patent is a detailed description of the invention and end with claims which determine the scope of the invention.
2. Why should one file a complete specification/non-provisional patent?
Post filing the provisional specification, it is mandatory to file the complete specification/non-provisional patent within a period of 12 months for the patent prosecution to continue. In absence of the complete specification within the stipulated time, the application will be deemed abandoned.
3. What happens after filing complete specification/non-provisional patent?
The patent office takes up your application for examination in due course of time and issues either a notice of allowance or an objection letter inviting you to defend or amend the patent based on prior-arts.
