Stereo mixes sound great on headphones and televisions, but not always in movie theaters. Since it’s a large space, having only two sound channels can compromise the experience for those sitting farther from the screen. Upmixing ensures a full sound experience without altering the original mix!

Any video format can be converted to DCP. However, to maintain high quality, it is recommended to use a ProRes 422HQ file or similar. For subtitles, the SRT format with timecodes is required. If you have separate audio files, the recommended format is uncompressed WAV, but any other format will do!

It is recommended to upload the file to a cloud service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox, and then share the link from there. However, links from Vimeo, WeTransfer, and others also work!

The DCP will be uploaded to the cloud, and I will send you a link so you can download it. Since DCPs tend to be large files, the link will be available for up to 72 hours after the service is delivered, giving you enough time to download it (:

If you’d like to play the DCP like a regular file, I recommend using DaVinci Resolve. Just import the entire folder with all the files, and the program should play it smoothly. Alternatively, you can download DCP-o-matic Player, a dedicated free software for DCP playback.
