Can each client only see their own files and data?
Yes, that is the core of it. Permissions are checked on the server, not hidden in the interface, so one client cannot reach another client's data by editing a URL or poking at the API.
How is this different from a Softr or Airtable client portal?
Those launch fast and are fine for a handful of clients. The ceilings show up as you grow: record caps, thin permissions, awkward file handling and a monthly fee that rises with your client count. This is a real app you own outright.
Can I take payments or show invoices in the portal?
Invoice display comes in Business. Actually collecting money through Stripe is in the Payments package, or an add-on to Business if that is all you need.
Can it run on my own domain, like portal.mycompany.com?
Yes, from Business up. You will need access to your DNS settings and I will walk you through the two records if that is unfamiliar territory.
Do you build the admin dashboard as well as the client side?
Yes. Every package includes an admin dashboard where you add clients, assign projects, upload files and decide what each client sees. You never need to touch the database.
Can you import my existing client list?
Yes. Send a CSV or a spreadsheet and I import it during setup instead of making you retype hundreds of clients by hand.
Can I add more roles later, like staff or sub-clients?
Yes. The permission system is built to extend, so adding a role later is a small change rather than a rebuild. Same for extra screens and reports.
Do I get the source code and can another developer take over?
You'll not only get the full repository, but also the database schema, documentation files, and a walkthrough recording. Standard React, Next.js and SQL, so any competent developer can pick it up.
Can this work as a customer portal or a light CRM instead?
Yes. Same foundation. People use it as a customer portal, a member area, a vendor portal or a simple custom CRM with a SaaS style dashboard on top.
