You are being quoted per mailbox. Forty mailboxes, forty line items, and the number has stopped making sense.
I do not count your mailboxes. One domain, every mailbox on it, one price. Mail copies over IMAP with imapsync while the old server keeps delivering, so nothing goes offline and nothing is missed. Folders, read status, flags, dates and nested structure all survive. Forwarders, filters, aliases and autoresponders are rebuilt where the formats differ.
Server to server is what I actually do: cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk, any direction, or off a server entirely to Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Mailbox format conversion happens before export, the step that silently ruins a migration when it is skipped.
How I stand behind it: messages counted per folder on the source, counted again on the destination, both lists sent to you. Mismatches get fixed before I deliver, and your old mail is never deleted.
Included: unlimited mailboxes on Standard and above, plus a second pass for whatever arrives during the switch.
Not included: mail hosting or licences, spam cleanup, archives over 100 GB without telling me first.

I started in a hosting support queue in 2011, on the tickets nobody else wanted. The site is down, the backup is a week old, and whoever last touched the server has left.
Then seven years running my own hosting company, where there was nobody else to catch a mistake. Five more running the technical side of another one. Since 2023 I have been inside the migration team of a large US host, where a thousand accounts move overnight and the window does not move.

Will people lose mail during the switch?
No. The old server keeps delivering while the copy runs, then I do a second pass that picks up everything that arrived in between. The mailbox is never taken offline. Clients keep working through it and usually notice nothing.
Do folders and read status survive?
Yes, all of it. Nested folders, read and unread state, flagged and answered markers, original dates and message IDs. This is what IMAP-level syncing gets you that a plain export and import does not.
Do you need the mailbox passwords?
Preferably not. With admin access on the source server I authenticate as the mail admin and never touch individual passwords. If admin access is not available, I will need per-mailbox credentials, and you should change them afterwards.
What about very large mailboxes?
A 60 GB mailbox is a longer sync, not a problem. Tell me the total mail size before you order. Above 100 GB the window changes and so does the price, and I would rather say that up front than surprise you at delivery.
Do you really not charge per mailbox?
On Standard and above, no. Ten mailboxes or a hundred and ten, one price for the domain. The work is a sync run either way. Only the total data size changes the job, which is why the fence is at 100 GB and not at a mailbox count.
Will my mail still reach inboxes afterwards?
Premium includes an SPF, DKIM and DMARC check after the move and a written note of anything that needs changing at your DNS provider. Moving a mail server without checking those is how a domain quietly starts landing in spam.
Where can you migrate my email to?
Any IMAP destination. cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk, a plain Dovecot box, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Server to server is the direction most sellers skip and it is the one I do most.
