Do you edit more the 10,000 words?
YES. The gig pricing is a sample for comparison purposes. I have edited fiction and nonfiction books up to 130,000 words. Bigger projects will be broken into sections, so you have time to review each section before moving on.
I want my book "perfectly edited." Can you guarantee that?
I strive for 100% accuracy. However, there is an acceptable margin of error for the industry. (IngramSparks.com). Books go through several rounds of editing to ensure all errors are caught. You are paying for 1 PASS of editing & accuracy depends on the quality of the manuscript I receive.
Will you sign my NDA?
As an author, I understand your concern, but I do not. However, the Fiverr Terms of Service have a confidentiality clause that sellers are to uphold. You can find it here: https://www.fiverr.com/legal-portal/legal-terms/terms-of-service. I also offer a personal confidentiality statement.
What file types do you accept?
Traditional book editing is done in Word. I do not open Google Doc links for security reasons and do not use Pages, as it can drop characters, images, etc., in conversion. Publishing platforms require a Word or PDF file.
Can I rewrite sections during revision?
If you significantly change or reorganize the content, add new content, or ask me to rewrite sections after delivery, there will be an additional charge. This is not considered part of the engagement. You get one pass of editing. You will be charged to make another pass.
Can I add additional content to be edited?
Editing takes the surrounding content and flow into consideration. Any additional content added after editing has started will not be edited unless agreed to in advance. Be sure you have completed the manuscript before submitting for edits.
Can I modify payment or scope of work after ordering?
Read carefully and reach out before ordering. You cannot renegotiate the price after ordering. However, you can order additional services for an additional charge. Please conduct business in good faith.
Can I order without reaching out first?
I highly discourage this practice as editing is almost always a custom engagement. If you order without reaching out, you risk the order being canceled due to misalignment between scope and cost.
