About this Gig
I work with each client to nurture their unique voice as a writer, while helping them turn their novel or short story into its best self. Whether you have a messy first draft that requires extensive restructuring, or you need a quick final proofread before publication, I'm ready to help your manuscript sparkle and shine.
I have over 5 years of experience editing fiction and nonfiction. Some of my past editing projects include Brave New Girls 2024 and 2025 anthologies; Flynn Nightsider and the Ire of Inferno by Mary Fan; multiple novels by R.M. Demeester (The Girl Once Known, Chained to Conviction, and others); and Searchin' for the Sunrise: A Bronx Boy's Memoir by Vince D'Onofrio.
Before becoming an editor, I worked in medical research and Android app development. My degree is in molecular and cellular biology from Cornell University.
Writing samples are available upon request. Turnaround time is variable based on document length and desired services.

FAQ
How fast is your turnaround time?
Turnaround time varies depending on document length and desired services. A 1000-word sample will be ready in one day. Anything short-form will be ready in 3 to 7 days. Novel-length manuscripts will take 2 to 6 weeks depending on their length and the selected package of edits.
What are structural and developmental editing?
Developmental editing refers to large-scale edits (ie. pertaining to plot, character development, flow, etc.) that are done on a manuscript while it is being written. Structural editing refers to large-scale edits done on a completed draft of a manuscript.
How do structural and developmental editing work?
For each of these, I will create a write-up of page-by-page suggestions for your document, as well as an overall summary of suggestions. We will also have a consultation before and after the editing process to help you develop a "game plan" of how to proceed with your edits based on my suggestions.
What is your approach to structural and developmental editing?
I intend for the editing process to be a collaborative dialogue between us. My goal is to help you optimize your unique voice as a writer. I am not prescriptive with my suggestions. My job is to assist you in realizing the vision you have for your manuscript or document.
