About this Gig
Are you eager to explore your family history? I'm passionate about connecting people with their Scottish ancestors. My meticulous research and keen eye for detail will help you build a comprehensive family tree. With access to a vast array of resources, I can uncover hidden information and bring your family history to life.
I offer a number of packages depending on what you want to find, and if you're unsure where to start, send me a message so we can strategize a plan to get the outcome you're looking for.
For the package options, I will:
- Review all information provided by you to help me understand your existing knowledge
- Conduct 1, 3 or 5 hours of research (based on package selected)
- Provide a report on my findings which may include:
- Names of found family members
- Dates of events (births, deaths, marriage, etc.)
- Relevant locations (burials, addresses)
- Newspaper clippings
- Web links and sources
If selected - The records extra gig may include:
- Birth, death, and marriage certificates
- Census, church, and military records
- Immigration and probate documents

FAQ
What information is needed?
To ensure I'm spending time focusing on what's most important to you, please provide as much information and/or records that you currently have regarding the family member/s you want to research
How many family members can you research?
I can research as many as you like, however it's important to keep in mind that the more I am focusing on, the more diluted my research will be. For best results, it's best to focus on 1-2 people.
Can you find people that are living?
No, the records have release limitations based on the record type. In general, most records are restricted within the last 100 years (in some cases less/more)
Will I get a report with your findings?
Yes, I'll provide a report with my findings which will include as much detail as possible, such as record numbers, dates, source locations, etc.
What if you can't find my ancestor?
Some ancestors are good at hiding! so it's not always possible to find the people you want to, especially prior to statutory records that begun in 1855 in Scotland. If this is the case, and I can't find your ancestor, I am happy to either provide the research time on someone else or offer a refund
Will you send me copies of the original records?
If the records are free to obtain, I will share them with you. Otherwise, you can select the extra gig for documents and I will purchase them on your behalf. Please note, these are for personal use only and are not to be shared publicly (on Ancestry for instance). They are subject to copyright law
