Will the files be completely ready for multi color printing like the Bambu Lab AMS?
Yes. If you select a package that includes the 3MF file, the model will come fully color mapped and split into distinct parts. You can drop it straight into Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, or PrusaSlicer, and it will be ready to print on multi material systems without any manual painting required.
How do I install the LED lights, and are there channels built into the design?
Every 3D lightbox design includes built in internal channels specifically sized for standard 5mm or 8mm RGB LED strips. I also design hidden entry holes at the back or bottom for the power cable or USB plug, ensuring a clean, wireless look from the front.
Can you convert a flat 2D logo or image into a 3D light box?
Absolutely. I can take your flat vector drawing, PNG, or corporate 3D logo and transform it into a layered, physical sign design. I will separate the background, text, and graphic elements into different physical depths to create a striking 3D aesthetic when backlit.
Do you provide the actual physical light box or just the digital files?
This gig provides digital manufacturing files (3D Printing STL, 3MF files/SVG layouts) and professional design mockups. I do not ship physical products. You can use these files to manufacture the piece on your own 3D printer/laser cutter or send them directly to a local commercial fabrication shop.
Can I scale the design to a different size, or will it break the model?
While you can scale the overall outer dimensions in your slicer, shrinking the model too much can compress the built in LED channels and wall thicknesses, making assembly difficult. If you need a specific size for your storefront sign or desk decor, please let me know beforehand.
Are the STL models designed to print without supports?
Yes, I optimize all 3D lightbox and backplate models to print completely flat on the build plate. This eliminates the need for messy support structures, saves you filament, and ensures clean, smooth internal faces for optimal light reflection.
What materials or filaments do you recommend for the best light diffusion?
For the front faceplate or diffuser, I recommend you using Translucent, Opal, or standard White PLA/PETG with 100& infill at a low layer height. For the main body and backplate, a solid, opaque black or dark gray filament works best to prevent light from leaking through the sides of your shadow box.
