Is this a line edit or a developmental edit?
No, and you should know that before ordering rather than after. This is a thorough proofread with a light clarity pass. No sentence rewriting, no pacing or structural notes, no continuity checking across your story. That work needs a human holding the whole book in their head.
Do you use AI?
Yes, openly. AI-assisted tools do the correction pass, and I check the output for quality before delivery. Every change is clearly marked and every wording change is explained, so you approve or reject each one yourself — nothing is applied silently.
Will you change my voice or style?
No. I correct objective errors. Anything that reads as a deliberate choice — dialect, invented terms, unconventional punctuation — is left alone, or flagged in a comment rather than "fixed." Tell me in the requirements and it's protected.
Which format should I pick?
If you'll keep working in the file I send back, take Tracked Changes — accept, reject, done, nothing left to re-apply. If you're re-typing edits into another tool, take Inline or Hybrid. If you just want the clean result with a quick visual check, take a clean version.
My novel is 180,000 words. Is that a problem?
No. Length changes the price, not the process: base price plus $5 per 10,000 words over 50,000. A manuscript that size is turned around in the same delivery window as a short one.
Can I order chapter by chapter?
Yes. Order per chapter as you finish, or the whole manuscript at once. Pricing is by word count either way, so splitting it up costs you nothing extra.
Will my manuscript stay confidential?
Yes. Your file is used only to produce your edit. It is not shared, published, reused, or kept after delivery. Happy to confirm that in writing before you order.
