Do you do free sample edits?
Yes, I'm happy to do a free 1,000 word sample edit before you order. Just reach out and let me know!
What do you use for commenting/editing?
I primarily use Google Doc's commenting and suggesting features but I'm also familiar with Microsoft Word's track changes. Please let me know if you have a preference, otherwise I will default to Google Docs.
Which package should I pick for my book?
If you've just finished a first draft and need feedback on your plot and characters, developmental editing is the best package. If you've already refined your story and are looking to improve the flow and clarity of your sentences, line editing is the best choice. You can also combine the two!
Do I need to provide a sample and synopsis?
Before ordering, please provide a short writing sample (1-2 pages) and a brief synopsis so I can get a sense of your story, style, and vision. This helps me ensure we're a good fit and that I can give your work the attention it deserves.
What is the best editing order?
The best editing order goes like this - self-editing, developmental editing, implementing suggestions from developmental editing, self-editing again, and then line editing. You can always get feedback from beta readers too, usually before developmental editing!
