I will reverse engineer a file format or game data and build a working tool

About this gig
I take apart file formats, save data, password systems and game code, document how they work, and build tools on top of what I find.
My Red Earth project is a good example. I decrypted Capcom's arcade ROMs with my own Python and C++ scripts, traced the password routine through its assembly code in Ghidra and the MAME debugger, then released a ROM hack and a website that generates and decodes passwords. I'm also writing Open Factory Studio, a C++ editor for M.U.G.E.N characters, stages and screenpacks.
You get a written explanation of what I found, with offsets and structures, plus any scripts or tools I build. Everything is checked against real sample files, and as a QA engineer I test the edge cases too.
What I don't do: cracking, DRM or licence removal, cheats for online games, or anything that breaks the law or a product's terms. The work is for software and data you own or have the right to modify.

FAQ
What can you reverse engineer?
Binary file formats, save files, password and checksum systems, game data and older desktop programs. I use Ghidra, the MAME debugger, hex editors and my own Python and C++ scripts.
Will you crack software or remove DRM?
No. I only work on software and data you own or have the right to modify, and I do not make cracks, remove DRM or build cheats for online games.
What if the format cannot be fully decoded?
I tell you early. The Basic package is an analysis, so you know what is possible before you pay for a tool.
