About this gig

Hello everyone,

I'm doing prior authorizations from last 6 years. I have expertise in below mentioned specialties:

  • Cardiology (Echo or Stress Tests)
  • Pain Management (e.g MRI's or CT Scans)
  • Peer support (H CPT codes)
  • Chiropractic Services

I obtain authorizations through the following platforms:

  • Portals
  • Faxes
  • Calls

I apply authorizations on same day as soon as I receive the particular information regarding patient Insurance information, CPT, ICD, Provider information. The approval time of an authorization normally takes one or two days but some of the insurances require more documentation to verify medical necessity of that particular CPT like progress notes, medical records etc because of which approval time may take max of 5 business days.

In case insurance denies the authorization then we do the following things:

  • Peer to peer review
  • Appeal (can take upto 30 days)

As per my way of obtaining the authorizations the success rate is above 90 percent.
