FAQ
What information do you need to start the PCB enclosure design?
To begin, I need PCB dimensions (STEP file preferred), component height details, connector positions, mounting requirements, and your target manufacturing method (3D printing or injection molding). The more accurate the data, the more precise the enclosure fit will be.
Can you design an enclosure for injection molding?
Yes. I design enclosures optimized for injection molding, including proper wall thickness, draft angles, rib structure, boss design, and DFM considerations to ensure smooth production and reduced tooling issues.
Do you provide manufacturing-ready files?
Yes. You will receive STL (3D printing ready), STEP / IGES source files, and technical drawings (DWG/DXF/PDF) suitable for manufacturers, CNC machining, or mold development.
Can you include IP-rated or water-resistant concepts?
Yes. I can design IP-rated enclosure concepts with gasket grooves, sealing lips, and screw compression strategies. Final IP certification depends on physical testing, but the design will follow proper sealing principles.
Do you also help with PCB placement and internal mounting?
Yes. I design enclosures around real electronics requirements, including PCB standoffs, mounting bosses, connector alignment, antenna clearance, thermal spacing, and assembly feasibility.
