Freelance Editor
About this Gig
You've spent months or years growing your story, and now you're ready for a professionally trained editor to help you take it to the next stage!
Are we a good fit?
I work with romance, upmarket and women's fiction, historical fiction, young adult, literary suspense, cozy mystery, adventure, time-slip, and magical realism.
I love books that pull me in, that hold me tightly under their spell. I studied professional editing because I wanted to understand how great stories are built and shaped into compelling, page-turning reads.
I hold a postgraduate Certificate in Professional Editing Standards from Queen's University, and I work with fiction writers who want structured, detailed feedback to strengthen their manuscripts.

FAQ
Will you rewrite my manuscript?
No. I provide detailed editorial feedback and suggestions, but I do not rewrite your work. My goal is to help you strengthen your story while preserving your voice.
How will I receive my edits?
Edits are delivered in Microsoft Word using Track Changes, along with comments and structured feedback to guide your revisions.
Do you offer a sample edit?
Yes, I’m happy to provide a short sample edit so you can see how I work before committing.
Will my work be kept confidential?
Yes. Your manuscript is treated as completely confidential and will never be shared. Your work belongs to you.
Do you work with unfinished manuscripts?
Yes. I’m happy to work with drafts at any stage, from early drafts to completed manuscripts. Feedback will be tailored to where you are in the writing process.
What’s the difference between developmental editing, line editing, and copyediting?
Developmental editing focuses on big-picture elements like structure, pacing, and character arcs. Line editing improves sentence flow, clarity, and style. Copyediting addresses grammar, spelling, and consistency.
Do you offer revisions?
Yes. I’m happy to clarify feedback and answer questions after delivery, and I can review a brief revised section (up to ~1,000 words). Further review or full re-edits would require a new order.
Do you use AI in your editing process?
No. My editing is human-led and based on professional editorial training and judgment. All editorial decisions and feedback are my own.
Do you edit AI-generated writing?
No. I do not work on AI-generated or AI-written manuscripts.
