Mako DSP is an open source platform built to simplify the development of audio DSP systems through both accessible hardware and reusable software libraries. It is designed as an Arduino shield compatible board, using a header layout similar to the Leonardo, which makes it easy to extend into many kinds of projects beyond typical audio applications. The platform is based on the NXP LPC4337, a distinctive dual-core ARM microcontroller that combines a Cortex-M4F and a Cortex-M0 in one package. This architecture allows Mako DSP to process audio in real time while also handling control and system tasks in parallel. The hardware files and software resources are released as free and open source, making the platform practical for experimentation, learning, and product development.
