What is MCP and why do I need it?
Model Context Protocol lets Claude call external tools and query data via a standardised interface. Instead of copy-paste back and forth, Claude directly queries your systems — safer, faster, auditable.
Which languages do you use?
TypeScript by default (official SDK is most mature), Python if it fits your stack. Both use the official Anthropic MCP SDK. Node 20+ or Python 3.11+ recommended.
What systems can you wrap?
Any REST or GraphQL API, SQL databases (Postgres/SQL Server/MySQL), filesystem, cloud storage, internal microservices, SharePoint, Jira. If it has an interface, I can wrap it.
How does auth work?
App-only OAuth, API keys stored in Key Vault or environment, SSO where supported. Secrets never live in code. I follow your existing auth model rather than reinventing it.
Where does the MCP server run?
Locally as stdio for solo dev, HTTP+SSE for team sharing, Docker or K8s for production. Your infrastructure, not mine — nothing leaves your environment.
Can you extend an existing MCP server?
Yes. If you have a community server, I can add tools, harden auth, add monitoring, containerise, and integrate with your CI/CD.
What about rate limits and cost?
MCP servers can cache aggressively, batch requests, and rate-limit. I design around your target API budget and surface throttling info back to Claude so it retries sensibly.
Do you handle multi-tenant setups?
Yes. The server can scope tool responses to the requesting user's org or tenant via context, and Key Vault / secret backends can be tenant-scoped too.
Do you provide monitoring?
Structured logs to your choice — Datadog, App Insights, CloudWatch, or plain files. Alerts on failures and P95 latency are included in the Premium tier.
What's out of scope?
Non-Claude LLM integrations (architecturally similar but off-scope for this gig). Fully custom Claude clients or agent frameworks (see my other gigs). Reverse-engineering closed APIs without docs.
