About this Gig
We offer effective and oriented-to-market developmental edition for fiction and non-fiction writing projects. We are experts in bringing out the elements that make readers and agents love a book according to each genre.
This is a new gig, but we have been successfully working with developmental edition as an extra service alongside beta-reading (about 500 5-star reviews here on Fiverr).
In our developmental edition gig we look for:
- plot holes
- inconsistencies
- unlikeable characters
- arc weaknesses
- inconstant points of view or tense
We also identify:
- plot strengths and how to explore them to the fullest
- characters who shine and how to make them absolute stars
At the end of the gig, you'll receive your manuscript filled with in-line comments from two editors + the possibility of discussing the appointed notes in the revision round.
We hold degrees related to the field and have a decade-long background in Journalism, English, Literature, and Business.
Disclaimer: We don't correct grammar or typos (although we point them out when we see them) and we don't rewrite excerpts of the text.

FAQ
How does your price/packages work?
Besides the 3 options you see (Basic, Standard, Premium), you can use the input box for additional words inside a package. For example: If your work has a word count of 22k, you can go to our Basic Package and write down 22000 in the input box. The system will give you the right price.
Do you work only with books?
We work with books; short stories; scripts for tv and cinema; academic essays; blog posts; and other general essays. If your writing project is not listed here, you can send us a message explaining it to us and we'll evaluate our capability of helping you.
How does subscription work?
You can subscribe to our gig for 3 or 6 months with a 15% or 20% discount from the second month, respectively. It's ideal for a WIP, so every month you can send new chapters for us (the system also helps you to keep on track with your production). It's great for people with multiple books too.
What is the difference between this gig, and your beta reader gig?
The beta-read gig is ideal for books in a more mature stage, even if still far from publication. In that gig, the goal is to show how a real reader experiences the narrative, and that's why we provide our reactions to characters and plot through real-time in-line comments whilst we are reading.
Why do I need Developmental Editing?
It's hard to have a critical view of your own manuscript. In this service, we'll provide notes for you to correct the course of what still shows a level of weakness while helping you to strengthen what's already shining. We can also brainstorm with you ideas for new scenes or plotlines.
Will two people read my manuscript?
Yes. We both will read your manuscript and debate through in-line comments the points that need development. When the author receives the feedback, they can add their own comments which we will reply accordingly.
What happens in the revision rounds?
After receiving our feedback, we encourage you to answer our in-line comments (when applied). Our goal is to be your brainstorming team and come up with the most rounded ideas. The revision round happens once, but we can answer additional questions through the inbox messages.
Do you developmental edit all genres?
We have a great experience with all genres but poetry and horror—though elements from both of them are welcome in manuscripts that fall into another main genre.
Will you sign a non-disclosure agreement for the confidentiality of my book?
It will be our pleasure to sign it if you may choose this option. We understand that confidentiality is a normal concern for writers, as well as the possibility of someone stealing your book. Don't worry, your story and your work are in our best interest.
