About this gig
I help businesses design custom jigs, fixtures and production tooling for welding, assembly, inspection and other manufacturing operations.
Not every project starts with a complete specification. I can help clarify requirements, identify missing information, develop concepts and define the right tooling solution before detailed design begins.
I focus on practical, manufacturing-ready designs, considering part variation, locating and clamping, operator safety and access, loading and unloading, welding sequence and other production requirements.
Depending on the agreed scope, deliverables can include 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs and production documentation. I provide remote engineering support during fixture manufacturing and production launch.
I spent five years as an Equipment Project Engineer in a General Motors welding shop, gaining practical experience with welding fixtures, joining equipment, part handling and production processes. I have also designed and delivered fixture projects for clients across different industries.
Every project is different, so I work through a Custom Offer based on the agreed scope, complexity, deliverables and timeline.

Hi, I'm Andrey Sychev, an independent mechanical design engineer. I run design studio ANSY supporting businesses worldwide with mechanical design and engineering services, focusing on industrial products and equipment.

FAQ
What information do you need to design a jig or fixture?
You can send existing CAD, drawings, photos, specifications, measurements or other available information. We can discuss the requirements, identify what is missing, and determine the right approach for the fixture.
Can you design a fixture if I don't have a complete concept?
Yes. I can help clarify requirements, develop a suitable fixture concept, and define a practical solution before detailed design. Concept development can be included in the main project or handled as a separate stage.
What types of jigs and fixtures can you design?
Welding fixtures are my main specialization. I also design assembly fixtures, inspection and checking fixtures, positioning and clamping systems, and tooling for other manufacturing operations.
Do you design for the actual manufacturing process?
Yes. I consider part variation, locating and clamping, operator safety and access, loading and unloading, the manufacturing process, manufacturability and other production requirements when developing the fixture.
Can you provide manufacturing drawings and a BOM?
Yes. Depending on the agreed scope, I can provide the 3D assembly, detailed manufacturing drawings, BOM and other documentation required to manufacture the fixture. Files for laser cutting or other processes can also be included.
Do you support the fixture during manufacturing and production start?
Yes. I provide remote engineering support during fixture manufacturing and production launch. This can include answering technical questions, reviewing issues, and making design or documentation updates when needed.
How do you determine the price of a fixture project?
Every fixture is different, so I do not use a one-size-fits-all price. I review the requirements, complexity, scope, deliverables and timeline, then prepare a Custom Offer with the appropriate price.
What happens before I place an order?
Message me with your project details and whatever input you have. We can discuss the requirements, clarify the scope and determine what needs to be designed. I will then prepare a Custom Offer based on the agreed project.
