I am an experienced beta-reader and have a PhD in English Literature. In my research I specialise in the early modern period, specifically Elizabethan, Jacobean, and Caroline England. My experience in historical research means I am well situated to provide historical consultation on historical fiction novels. With that being said, I am an avid reader of historical fiction, so I know when fact is important, and when not to get bogged down in the details! I read widely across the genre, including subgenres like historical romance and mystery.
I am happy to focus on whatever elements of your story you want feedback on; whether this is plot, pacing, character development, or tone. If you don't have any specific questions, don't worry! I will give feedback on all relevant elements of your manuscript.

This was a great Value Beta Read. Very quickly delivered. It was a 3 day turn around, and delivered on time. Not quite as detailed as it could be, but was expecting that due to the turn around time (its a lot to do in just 3 days). The feedback was very helpful, and confirmed what I thought, which is invaluable. I would definitely use Anna again.
