I will remediate your PDF documents for accessibility and screen readers
About this Gig
Public agencies serving 50,000+ people must make the documents on their websites meet WCAG 2.1 AA by April 26, 2027. Most PDFs fail on the same things: no tags, no reading order, no language, images without alt text, forms a screen reader cannot name.
I rebuild your document as a new, tagged PDF. The text and order stay the same; the layout is a clean, readable template, not a copy of your original design.
Every file gets:
- tags and reading order (headings, lists, tables with column header rows)
- alt text for meaningful images, written for your document
- title, language and bookmarks set
- scanned pages turned into real text (OCR), proofread against your original
- simple fillable forms (text boxes, checkboxes) a screen reader can name (Premium)
- a check report: veraPDF PDF/UA-1 result plus a structure check
Not a fit (message me first): keeping your exact original design, forms with dropdowns, radio buttons or signatures, tables with row headers, multi-column newsletters, languages other than English.
This is not a guarantee of legal compliance. Send your files before ordering for a page count and a fixed price.
