No. Maintenance jobs are scheduled during low-traffic windows, and REINDEX work uses concurrent/online methods wherever the engine supports it to avoid long locks.
Do you work with Amazon Aurora and RDS?
Yes. Most of my work is on Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS, plus self-managed Postgres and SQL Server on EC2 or on-prem.
