What do you need to do a Data merge?
I need a .CSV file and the file for the final design. If you're doing envelopes, I can create the file as long as you give me the return address and font preference. If you're doing a business card, flyer, or any other designed file, I will need the blank version of that file to add the text to
Are you able to add text that needs to be repeated? Or does it need to be in the CSV file?
Yes, I can add repeated text, such as return addresses on the envelopes or "To:" and "From:", etc. These will be repeated on all copies in the same place and style.
What's the best way to set up my CSV file in general?
The easiest way is to create a column for each "blank" you have. Keep in mind that styles (like different colors, bold/italic/underlined, or sizes) can only be applied to a whole column. So if you want the first name to be in Blue and the last name Red, they will need to be different columns.
What's the best way to set up my CSV file for Envelopes?
The easiest way is to set up one column for each line in the address. So line one: First Name Last Name & First name Last Name. Line two: Street Address, Apartment Number Line three: City, State Zipcode
