About this Gig
Your books were current, but bookkeeping fell behind. You may have the statements and recordsyou simply haven't entered everything yet.
I provide catch-up bookkeeping for small and medium-sized businesses whose existing books are substantially usable but need overdue activity entered and completed through an agreed date.
Depending on scope, I can:
- Record and categorize missing bank and credit-card transactions
- Record transfers, loans, AP/AR, payroll, merchant processor, and sales-tax activity where applicable
- Reconcile bank and credit-card accounts
- Update the General Ledger
- Prepare standard financial reports
- Identify unresolved transactions that need your clarification
This service is for books that are behind, not books requiring major correction or reconstruction. Work is based on the records you provide.
If you have more than 100 transactions, or you are unsure of the count, contact me first. I can review the scope and provide a fixed-price custom offer.

FAQ
What is catch-up bookkeeping?
Catch-up bookkeeping completes financial activity that was never entered after otherwise usable bookkeeping fell behind. I record and categorize the missing activity, complete applicable reconciliations, and bring the books current through an agreed date.
How do I know if I need catch-up bookkeeping?
This service is appropriate when your previous bookkeeping is substantially usable but you stopped keeping it current. If the books contain major errors rather than simply missing activity, the project may require a different scope.
How far behind can my books be?
There is no fixed number of months because workload depends on transaction volume rather than time alone. The project begins from the last dependable bookkeeping period and continues through the agreed ending date.
What counts as a catch-up transaction?
A catch-up transaction is financial activity from the overdue period that must be recorded or processed to bring the books current, such as bank or credit-card activity, income, expenses, transfers, or included AP/AR activity.
What if I don't know my transaction count?
That is fine. Contact me and provide enough records to review the backlog. I can determine the project size and recommend the appropriate package or provide a fixed-price custom offer when the work exceeds the published packages.
What if I have more than 100 transactions?
Contact me before ordering. I will review the records, transaction volume, accounts involved, and catch-up period and provide a fixed-price custom offer. Additional work does not begin until the scope and price are approved.
Can you work with QuickBooks Online?
Yes. Catch-up work may be completed in QuickBooks Online when the existing bookkeeping is substantially usable and the required records and appropriate account access are available.
Will you reconcile my bank and credit-card accounts?
Yes. Applicable bank and credit-card reconciliations may be completed for the catch-up period when statements and sufficient supporting records are available and the work falls within the approved scope.
Can you record payroll from payroll-provider reports?
Yes. Payroll bookkeeping activity may be recorded from payroll-provider reports when it falls within the approved catch-up scope. This service does not include processing payroll or filing payroll taxes.
What if you discover errors in my existing books?
Minor issues affecting the catch-up work can be identified during the project. If the existing books contain substantial errors requiring correction, that work must be separately scoped rather than treated as ordinary catch-up bookkeeping.
