FAQ
What are the ACX specs?
Files must be 192 kbps constant bit rate MP3 at 44.1 kHz. They need peaks no higher than -3 dB, RMS loudness between -23 and -18 dB, and a noise floor of -60 dB RMS or lower. Each file also needs 0.5 to 1 second of room tone at the start and 1 to 5 seconds at the end.
Can you fix a very noisy recording?
Often yes, but results depend on the source. Send a clip first, and I’ll tell you what’s realistic.
Do you re-record anything?
Yes. If there are misreads, flubbed lines or missing sentences, I can re-record them in a matching voice and blend them in. Add the “Pickup re-recording” extra, or message me first with your script and the timestamps.
What file format should I send?
WAV is best, because it keeps full quality. High-quality MP3 also works.
Do you guarantee ACX approval?
I guarantee the files meet ACX’s technical specs. ACX’s own review also checks the quality and content of the narration.
