Q: Do you account for the plastic enclosure/casing?
Yes! A plastic case can detune an antenna by 100-200 MHz. If you provide the 3D STEP file of your enclosure, I will import it into HFSS and tune the antenna specifically to work inside the casing.
Q: Will I receive the fabrication files?
Yes. In the Standard and Premium packages, I provide standard Gerber Files (RS-274X) and DXF outlines. You can send these directly to manufacturers like JLCPCB, PCBWay, or Rogers without any extra conversion.
Q: My board space is very small. Can you fit an antenna?
Absolutely. I specialize in miniaturized designs like Meander Line, Inverted-F (IFA), and Chip Antennas. I will optimize the geometry to get the best possible gain within your tight size constraints.
Q: Do you calculate the Impedance Matching Network?
Yes. I will provide the component values (Inductors/Capacitors) for a Pi or T-matching network to ensure your antenna matches 50Ω. This is crucial for maximum power transfer and range.
Q: Can you design for specific substrates like FR4?
Yes. Most IoT devices use cheap FR4. I optimize the bandwidth specifically to handle the high losses of FR4. If you need high performance, I can also design for Rogers (RO4350B, RO5880) or Taconic.
