Greetings!
Writing sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, action & adventure, or mystery for kids, teens, or adults? Having read hundreds of these novels since 1991, I bring deep genre familiarity to your project.
Some beta readers are cheerleaders who shy away from hard truths. That's not me. Because if your story falls flat or has glaring weaknesses, you'll want to identify them.
Two characters fall in love but it feels lacking? You'll get that feedback. Your dialogue sounds like Grammarly Pro? I will point it out. Your finale flops? You'll want to fix it before readers post 1- and 2-star reviews.
However, if your story is out of this world and I lay in bed at night thinking about it, you'll certainly hear that too.

Why should I choose you as my beta reader?
I am an experienced reader who considers the big picture and has an eye for detail. I provide honest feedback and offer suggestions to improve your manuscript.
What if I have more questions after you complete the job?
I will answer all of your questions until you are completely satisfied. As a writer, I understand the need for dialogue between writer and reader.
How do you define in-line editing?
In-line editing is an assessment of flow and readability. I focus on transitions, tone, point of view, repetition, redundancies, and pacing. In-line editing is subjective, while copyediting is rule-based. Regardless, I will offer copyediting corrections to content that may need your attention.
Do you accept manuscripts that are over 100,000 words?
Yes. Please contact me so that we can agree on a price and timeframe to complete the job.
Are there genres/sensitivities you do not accept?
I accept all genres. I have no sensitivity restrictions.

Why did you start beta reading?
A former co-worker wrote several manuscripts, and he let me read those so I could provide feedback. I was hooked (I love reading) and wanted to keep doing that for others.
Will you write an Amazon book review?
Amazon does not allow paid reviews. If they suspect your reviews are paid, they may delete your reviews, including legitmate reviews. At my discretion, I may write a review as an ARC, however it is not part of this gig nor its payment. So, no...this gig does not include writing an online review.
