The 3 effective forms of reviewing written pieces which I combine are;

developmental editing (a.k.a. content/substantive editing), copyediting and proofreading. Developmental editing is basically picking apart the main message of your writing, by focusing on the big picture. This kind of editing is usually done in the early stages of writing, though it can still apply to completed pieces. It is about examining how the words flow, and how each topic adds to the work as a whole. Copyediting is a more in-depth process than proofreading, though they are both similar. Copyediting includes a more thorough look at the clarity and structure of sentences, while proofreading focuses on fixing small typos.

I combine these editing methods to create a meticulously cleansed final product with clear sentences, no spelling/grammar/punctuation errors, and no typos.
