About this Gig
Self-hosted home servers provide a number of useful services. Here are just a few:
- Easy file sharing within or across networks. Similar to cloud-based storage like Google Drive, data on a home server can be easily shared. However, download and upload speed are not limited as with Google Drive.
- Media streaming platform. If you have media stored on your computer, you can easily stream it to all devices (computer, TV, phone, tablet).
- File backups. Storing your data on a home server allows you to easily back up your important files.
- Block ads on all your devices. Set up a DNS filtering service that blocks ads for all the devices on your local network.
- Many more!
Most importantly, you get full control of your data. Using cloud based storage such as
Google Drive, gives them permission to modify and create derivative
works from your data. Self-hosted data can be completely private.

Blue Aldrich is really good with Gsuite. He is very knowledgeable. Does zoom calls if needed and can explain things well. He is very patient and his English is perfect. Very easy to understand. I will be back for tech help and hire him for sure.
