About this Gig

You need a part in KiCad that isn't in the default libs - or is in a community lib and you're not sure the pads match the real package.

I build footprints from the vendor mechanical drawing, not from "looks like a QFN-16" vibes. I used to ship product decisions at Alarm.com (emPower); now I also pull cable through Bright Wire Solutions and design my own ESP32-S3 boards. Wrong pad pitch shows up when the boards come back and the module won't seat.

What you get: footprint measured against the vendor drawing (pads, pin-1, courtyard, posts, EPAD); a short provenance note in the footprint (drawing revision and what I checked); import-tested in current KiCad; one revision if it doesn't drop cleanly into your project.

What I need: manufacturer part number, datasheet if you have it (otherwise I pull it), KiCad version, any pin-naming rules.

What I won't do: invent a footprint when no authoritative drawing exists (I'll tell you before you pay); silently reuse a scraped EasyEDA/SnapEDA part and call it verified.

Your DRC validates the board against the footprint. Nothing validates the footprint against the part. That's the gap.
