I will write home assistant automations and esphome configs
KiCad footprints PCB review and Home Assistant configs
About this Gig
- Stuck at the YAML wall? You know what you want the house to do - you just don't want another weekend in the docs wondering why the trigger never fires.
Send an entity list (or Home Assistant diagnostics export) and describe the goal in plain English. You get commented YAML plus a step-by-step install guide. No remote access, ever. If the request is outside what YAML can do, I'll say so before you pay, not after.
I run a heavily automated home on hardware I actually designed (ESP32-S3, custom ESPHome devices, WLED, presence). Before that I spent years on the vendor/PM side of connected home (Alarm.com emPower) and I still pull low-voltage on real jobs (Bright Wire). So I've seen both the cloud feature deck and the wire nut in the can.
Every config gets a pass for classic failure modes: triggers that fire twice, conditions that block silently, entities renamed out from under scripts, deep-sleep devices that never get updates.
What I need: goal in plain English, relevant entity names, and for ESPHome the board + sensor models.
What I never need: passwords, VPN, or control of your system. Your files, your hands on the keyboard - my job is that it works on the first paste.

FAQ
Do you need access to my Home Assistant?
No, never. I work only from what you send: entity names, a diagnostics export, YAML snippets. You paste the configs yourself using my install guide. I never ask for remote access, passwords, or control of your system.
What do I need to send you?
Your goal in plain English (what should happen and when), the relevant entity names (Settings > Devices & Services, or a diagnostics export), and for ESPHome work the board and sensor models. If anything is missing I'll ask before I start the clock.
Will the configs work in my Home Assistant version?
I write current HA syntax (triggers/conditions/actions) and note the minimum version needed. Everything is syntax-checked and logic-reviewed before delivery; you validate in your own instance before restarting. If an automation doesn't behave as agreed, the included revision covers it.
Do you use AI tools?
Yes, openly: I run an AI-assisted workflow for drafting and systematic review, and I personally check every config against your entity list before delivery. You get the speed of automation with a named human accountable for the result.
Can you help with wiring or mains-powered devices?
I deliver software configs only. For anything touching mains wiring (relays, in-wall switches), have a licensed electrician handle the installation - I'll gladly write the config for the safely-installed device. Low-voltage sensor wiring guidance (3.3/5V) is fine to include.
