I will deduplicate and merge excel data with power query
Data Analysis and Reporting Automation
About this Gig
Messy spreadsheet? Duplicated rows, mismatched formats, three files that should be one? I fix that.
I spent 2+ years doing exactly this inside a corporate asset team reconciling records from different sources, matching device models to room codes, tracking down missing and duplicated entries across tens of thousands of rows. Then I automated the repetitive parts with Power Query and macros.
WHAT I DO
Remove duplicates and near-duplicates, not just exact matches
Standardize formats: dates, phone numbers, casing, units, column order
Match and merge several files into one clean sheet
Flag missing, conflicting or invalid records
Build a reusable Power Query setup you can refresh yourself
WHAT YOU GET
A cleaned file plus a short summary of what changed and why
Your original data untouched I always work on a copy
Questions before I start, not guesses
BEFORE YOU ORDER
Send a sample of 10-20 rows (remove anything sensitive) and tell me what the finished result should look like. I'll confirm it's doable and which package fits.
Not sure which package? Message me I'll tell you honestly, even when it's the cheaper one.
FAQ
Will my data stay private?
Yes. I work on a copy, never share your file with anyone, and delete all copies within 7 days of delivery. If your data is sensitive, send an anonymized sample first — same structure, fake values — and I'll confirm the approach before you send the real file.
What file types can you work with?
.xlsx, .xls, .csv and Google Sheets exports. I deliver the cleaned file in the same format, plus a Power Query version if your package includes it. If your data comes from a system export with odd encoding, send a sample and I'll tell you if it's workable.
My file is bigger than the package limit. Can you still take it?
Usually yes. Message me with the row count and what needs cleaning, and I'll send a custom offer instead of asking you to buy two packages. Power Query handles large files well, so size is rarely the real problem — messy structure is.
I don't know what rules to apply to my data. Is that okay?
That's most orders. I'll look at your sample, list the decisions that need making (what counts as a duplicate, which date format wins, how to handle blanks), and confirm them with you before touching the file. You approve the logic, I do the work.
Will you change my original file?
No. I always work on a copy and deliver a new file. Your original stays exactly as it is, so nothing is lost if you want to compare before and after.
