About this Gig
There are those who use cheap tools to convert your fiction manuscript into an eBook. Then, there are those that understand the HTML coding that create eBooks. Think of this as the difference between an artist and someone who does paint-by-numbers. I'm an artist. All books are different, so please contact me before ordering. Page counts are estimates and pricing is based on word count.
I will take your DOC, DOCX, or RTF fiction manuscript and create an ePub 2.0.1 reflowable ebook. This file will be acceptable for Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook, Smashwords, Google Books, and other major ebook vendors. Your ebook will include:
- An NCX and internal clickable table of contents.
- An embedded book cover, if available, and desired.
- Up to five clickable links to websites or email addresses.
- Formatting will pass W3C / IDPF checks.
- Testing on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices for consistency.
- Source ePub files.
The biggest point of difference is metadata. Using Dublin Core Convention rules, I will insert author, publisher, subject, description, language, and date metadata into your ePub. This should make your book more easily discoverable for vendors' search engines.

FAQ
Does fixing typos I've made in the text count as a revision?
No. Please have your manuscript fully proofed before sending it to me. I can change typos, but there will be a custom fee for that. Revisions are for any style conventions I've used or issues you have with the final ebook.
Does this cover nonfiction books too?
No. Due to the simpler formatting, this gig only covers fiction books. I can do non-fiction, so please drop me a line on pricing.
What is a revision?
A revision is alterations to the work I do for you. A revision IS NOT editing the text you have sent to me. I will be happy to make textual changes to your manuscript, but that will incur an additional charge.
Can I have images?
Sure, but image insertion is not covered. Please add the image extra for 5 images for $5.
Can I have tables in my eBook?
Sure. Many times they don't render correctly on different eReaders or eBook platforms. I'll insert a table, but there is an extra for that.
Do I get a print layout too?
Print layouts require a different work process than an eBook and eBook formatting doesn't translate well into print layouts. I would be happy to do your print layout as a custom order or as part of another set gig of mine.
What factors increase the price of your work?
Books that have additional formatting requirements will usually incur a higher fee. If your book has multiple scene changes or sections that switch typefaces those factors increase my time on the project and therefore the cost. I'd be happy to take a look at your manuscript for a custom quote.
Do you do other generes beside fiction?
Yes, I will work on poetry, non-fiction, and other types of books. These books have formatting requirements that go above and beyond normal fiction texts. I'd be happy to evaluate your book and make a custom order suited for your needs.
How do I view my ebook?
You'll need an ereader program of app. Adobe Digital Editions is a good one that's free or Amazon has a Kindle previewer (that's also free) that you can use to view your ebook file.
What about non-disclsure?
Here's my blanket non-disclosure statement that I agree when booking a gig: All written, verbal, or visual information exchanged between us will not be disclosed, shared, or used by any third party unless you clear me to in writing. I agree to these terms for five years after our first gig.
