About this Gig
Proofreading is the final polish that makes your manuscript sparkle like a bought one. We're looking for missing or extra words, missing quotes, spelling errors. Note that a proofread is not a cheap copyedit. Your story needs to be clean to begin with (ie. You copyedit), and what were doing here is making it spotless. Basic and Standard packages are single pass only. Rougher copy may require an initial light copyedit to tidy it up, and then a final proofread.
CONFIRM MY SCHEDULE before you order. All manuscripts OVER 10K must be placed by CUSTOM ORDER.
- The basic service is for standard proofreading of professionally copyedited manuscripts. Any more than 3 errors per page and you'll need a higher tier.
- If your story contains too many errors to proofread, either check out my copyedit service, or my Premium Proofreading, which includes a light tidy-up before the proof run.
- Want feedback on the story? A cover blurb? Check out my optional extras.
- 7-day turnaround up to 10K words. Longer works by agreement.

Do you edit Erotica and Romance?
Oh boy, do I? You bet. I'm the Storytime Gallery editor at the Erotica Readers and Writers Association. Getting readers' hearts pounding is what I do.
I don't have a lot of money. What type of editing should I get?
Editing covers Developmental, Line Editing, Copyediting, Proofreading, and Typesetting. This isn't Pokemon - if you're an indie on a budget, you're not going to "catch 'em all". Send me a sample and I'll advise you where you'll get the best bang for your buck.
How is proofreading different to copyediting?
With proofreading (and unlike a copyedit) I'm not changing your CHOSEN words, grammar, or even punctuation - I'm just fixing typographical errors, like spelling, missing quotes, or missing words.
Do you use AI or editing software?
That's a no from me. You don't need me to jockey Grammarly or ChatGPT - you can do that yourself. My work is 100% human. Guaranteed.
