What's the difference between a beta read and an editorial critique?
A beta read focuses on the reader's experience how your story feels, flows, and holds attention. I provide honest reactions, identify confusing parts, and highlight what works and what doesn't. An editorial critique is more technical and involves line-by-line editing, which I don't offer.
What genres do you accept?
I specialize in Fantasy, Romance, Mystery/Thriller, Young Adult, Science Fiction, Historical Fiction, and Contemporary Fiction. If your genre isn't listed, feel free to message me I'm open to discussing it!
Do you accept non-fiction, memoirs, or children's books?
No. I work exclusively with fiction manuscripts. For non-fiction, memoirs, or children's literature, I recommend finding a beta reader who specializes in those areas.
What do I receive when you finish reading?
You'll receive two things: (1) inline comments throughout your manuscript with my immediate thoughts and reactions, and (2) a separate reader report summarizing big-picture feedback on plot, pacing, character development, tone, and overall readability.
How do you deliver the feedback?
I work with Google Docs and Microsoft Word. You'll receive your manuscript back with inline comments, plus a separate document containing your reader report. All feedback is delivered directly through the Fiverr order page.
