About this gig

Since the beginning of electronic audio recording we've needed engineers to get audio signals within specified tolerances, whether for broadcast, or vinyl duplication. But mastering also has a creative element. It's one more set of ears to examine the musical signal and make an artistic decisioin about how it could be improved. As an artist, musician, and electronics technician, I always serve the music first with the technical knowledge of how to achieve the desired result.

Tape transfers, mixing, and mastering. Processing stems through analogue gear. AKG Spring Reverb, and EMT Plate reverb. Opened the Buzzworks Recording Studio in 1996, after working for many years as a professional drummer. Adopted digital technology early on, then decided to pedal backwards and focus primarily on vintage analogue gear. Collected almost every format of tape deck. Worked as a live audio tech for a concert production company for a few years. Consultation and audio system installation.
