I will turn your pdfs and documents into a searchable offline library
PDF to Text Document Conversion Searchable Offline Libraries
About this Gig
Your contracts and technical documents sit on your own machine. Finding one clause
means opening files one by one and every cloud tool that solves this sends your
files to someone else's servers.
I build the opposite: a searchable library that runs entirely on your computer.
WHAT YOU GET
No installation. No Python. No GPU. No command line. One .html file double-click and search. No account, no internet.
Every result shows the source document and the page it came from.
Running headers, page numbers and duplicated lines are cleaned out.
WHAT IT DOESN'T DO
- Keyword search, not semantic: exact codes work well, "find the clause about late
payment" works less well.
- Scanned pages need OCR. Clean scans are fine, handwriting often isn't.
- OCR text can contain errors. Good for searching, not for quoting as an authority.
EXTRAS
- Data source connectivity: I connect extra sources (database, cloud drive,
website) into the same library.
- API integration: adds a question-and-answer interface that uses your own API key.
Your documents still never leave your machine.
- Include source code: the Python pipeline that builds the library, so you can
rebuild it yourself later.

FAQ
Do I need to host it or pay a subscription?
No. It is a single .html file that opens offline. Nothing is uploaded to any server.
Can you handle Chinese?
Yes. I have built a searchable library of over 5,000 Chinese articles (9.6 million characters) from scanned PDFs and web pages. Chinese, English and Japanese documents are all fine. (I'm Chinese, so this part is easy.)
What file types do you accept?
Text-based PDFs, scanned PDFs (OCR), Word and other Office files, plain text, and web pages. Send me a sample and I'll confirm before you order.
Is it really offline? Where do my documents go?
Nowhere. Everything is built on your machine and delivered as a single .html file. No account, no upload, and no internet needed to search — you can unplug the network cable and it still works.
Can it answer questions in plain language, like a chatbot?
Not in the standard packages — those give you keyword search. If you want a question-and-answer interface, add the "API integration" extra: it uses your own API key and still keeps your documents on your machine.
What about scanned documents and handwriting?
Scanned pages are processed with OCR. Clean, high-resolution scans work well. Handwriting often does not, and OCR text can contain errors — fine for searching, not for quoting.
Can I add more documents later?
Yes. With the "Include source code" extra you get the Python pipeline and can rebuild the library yourself whenever you add files. Without it, message me and I'll quote a smaller follow-up job.
What if my set is larger than 3,000 pages, or mixes PDFs and web pages?
Message me before ordering. I'll look at your files and send you a custom offer.
