FAQ
1. Will my city approve these drawings?
I draft every set to your local building code and to permit-submission standards, using the checklist your jurisdiction requires. Share your city or county before ordering and I will confirm the exact sheets your reviewer expects.
2. Do you provide an engineer's or architect's stamp?
No. I provide drafting and design services only. If your jurisdiction requires a stamp, you will need a licensed engineer or architect in your state to review and seal the drawings. I deliver DWG files so they can do this easily.
3. What do you need from me to get started?
A rough sketch, existing PDF plans, a survey, or even a hand drawing works. Also send your address or city, lot size, and any specific requirements. The more detail you share, the faster and more accurate the first draft will be.
4. What file formats will I receive?
You get print-ready PDF sheets with every package. Standard and Premium also include the editable AutoCAD DWG source file, so you or your contractor can make changes later. Basic buyers can add DWG as a gig extra.
5. Do you work with both U.S. and Canadian building codes?
Yes. I have 10+ years drafting to IRC/IBC based U.S. codes and Canadian requirements. Tell me your state, province, or municipality or county and I will draft to that jurisdiction's setbacks, egress, and dimension standards.
6. My project is bigger than the package size. Can you still help?
Absolutely. Add the extra project size gig extra, or message me first and I will send a custom offer priced to your actual square footage. I regularly handle larger homes, additions, and multi-unit projects.
7. Can you redraw my existing PDF or scanned plans into CAD?
Yes. Send the PDF, image, or scan and I will rebuild it as a clean, fully dimensioned AutoCAD drawing. Please include at least one known dimension or a scale bar so everything is traced to the correct scale.
8. Do you offer 3D rendering or Revit models?
Yes. Both are available as gig extras on this order. I can produce 3D exterior renderings for presentation or client approval, and full Revit/Sketchup models when your project or reviewer requires them.
