For ebooks, Times New Roman, Arial, or Garamond fonts are the fonts to choose from when creating and designing an ebook. Why? Because any other fonts detected during conversion by Publishing Companies will be converted to Times New Roman.

Standard 8.5 x 11″ page size ensures that any included images will be large enough for an iPad, Kindle, Nook, and any other e-readers.

Ebook Cover image: 1,600 pixels wide by 2,400 pixels tall

eBooks do not use page-based formatting, but rather are composed of reflowable text that automatically adjusts based on the selected font and eReader screen size. Page numbers, page breaks, headers, and footers do not exist in eBooks.

eReader devices often cannot accurately display complex content such as: 1. Charts 2. Text boxes 3. Scientific or mathematic formulas 4. Embedded objects such as HTML, Smart Art, etc. If you must include any of the above, I recommend replacing the text with a high-quality JPEG image.

They are one of the most common rejection reasons from our retail distribution partners. The image formats: JPG, GIF, PNG are accepted. Keep the resolution on your images between 96 - 150 DPI. Keep image size around 500 x 500 pixels.

1. Do no include the retail price of your eBook on the cover, in the description, or in the eBook itself. 2. Remove URLs from the cover,title,description,copyright,metadata–basically, anyplace that would not be considered part of your book’s text must be free of URLs.

Make sure to have a folder with all the Word files. One way you can do is to name your word files by using: title, date and version. For example "In Love With Her 030523 V01". This technique can help you get more organized, especially with the multiple revisions that come down the road.
