J. Alexander Smith is a professional cellist and dedicated music educator based in South Boston, offering tailored cello and music theory instruction. Holding a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music from Vanderbilt University, he combines rigorous classical training with a passion for contemporary solo and ensemble performance. As an active performer and founding member of the cross-genre project Vilera, the Eunoia String Quartet, and Trio Alinea, he brings extensive stage experience directly into the teaching studio.
