Feeling nervous about getting feedback on your book? I totally understand! It can be scary putting your work out there. So first of all, kudos to you for taking this important step in the writing process!
As your beta reader, I'll provide constructive feedback to help strengthen your story. This is not a developmental edit...those are much more in depth. Here's what you can expect from me:
In-line comments throughout your manuscript with my real-time thoughts and reactions
Light copyediting: I'll point out any spelling or grammar issues I spot (though this wont be the main focus)
Answers to your specific questions, such as:
- Was this plot point predictable?
- Were any characters too similar?
- Etc. (just let me know!)
Notes on pacing: I'll point out any sections that feel too slow or rushed
Clarification checks: I'll highlight any moments of confusion or where more context might help
World Building: This isn't just for fantasy and sci-fi! Every story has it's own world, setting, and locations that are important to your story
Post-read reflections: I'll let you know any lingering questions or thoughts I had after finishing the story.

What genres do you beta read?
Most fiction novels! Some genres I'll have more experience with than others (Less experience with: horror/thriller/mystery, More experience with: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance). Contact me if you want to see if we'd be a good fit.
How does the pricing/packages work?
Besides the 3 options you see (Basic, Standard, Premium), you can use the input box for additional words. For example: If your work has a word count of 65k, you can go to the Standard Package and write down 65000 in the input box. The system should give you the right price.
What if my novel or story is unfinished?
No worries! Getting feedback before finishing can help you figure out if you're on the right track. Just let me know so I don't tell you that your story doesn't have an ending
What file type do you need?
Ideally I'd love a Word document (.doc or .docx) so that I can use "track changes" and you can easily follow my in-line comments. Please reach out if you need to use a different file type.
