What is the difference between designing for CNC vs. Injection Mold?
CNC involves cutting a solid block of plastic or metal, so the walls can be thick and blocky. Injection molding involves squirting liquid plastic into a steel mold, which requires extremely strict rules like uniform wall thickness, draft angles, and ribs. I can design for both stages of your product
Can you design a snap fit enclosure without using screws?
Yes! Snap fit joints are the industry standard for modern consumer electronics because they look premium and save assembly time. I calculate the exact flex and undercut depth in SolidWorks so the plastic enclosure clicks together securely.
I have an internal PCB (circuit board). How do we make sure it fits?
You will send me the 3D STEP file of your PCB. I will import it into SolidWorks and build the plastic enclosure strictly around your board, adding screw bosses or mounting ledges with exact clearance tolerances.
Will the files be ready to send to my injection molding factory in China?
Yes. In the Premium package, I optimize the entire design for mass production (DFM). I add the necessary draft angles (so it ejects from the mold) and provide the universal STEP files that factories demand.
Can you design the buttons and screen cutouts for my device?
Absolutely. If your consumer electronic device has LED screens, USB-C ports, or physical buttons, I will design the precise cutouts and floating button mechanisms required for them to function perfectly.
Do you provide photorealistic renders of the enclosure?
