I was writing layouts before CSS arrived. I build web systems that survive the hype cycle. Over the last two decades, I’ve navigated spacer GIFs, the IE6 box model hack, the Flash revolution and its sudden death, the jQuery era, the single-page application explosion, and the modern return to server-rendered simplicity. My design principle is invariant: the browser is an incredible platform if you stop fighting it with unnecessary megabytes.
