Every issue I flag comes with a recommendation for how to fix it. I do not just tell you something is broken. I tell you why and what to do about it.
I am a published novelist (Kristin McTiernan) and a working editor with 15 years of experience and over 400 completed orders. I edit fantasy, sci fi, thriller, horror, mystery, historical fiction, literary fiction, romance, and memoir. No AI tools are used at any stage of this process. I read your manuscript multiple times, by hand.

What exactly do I receive?

Do you use AI tools for any part of the edit?
No. I read your manuscript multiple times by hand. No AI line edits, no AI analysis, no automated feedback. And certainly no feeding your work into an LLM. The edit is entirely my own professional assessment.
What genres do you edit?
Fantasy, science fiction, thriller, horror, mystery, historical fiction, literary fiction, romance, and memoir. I do not edit children's books or non-con erotica. If your genre is not listed, message me.
What if I disagree with your changes?
This is your book. All line edits are visible in Track Changes and you can accept or reject any of them. The editorial analysis is recommendations, not mandates. My job is to show you where the manuscript can improve and how. Yours is to decide what serves your story.
Is this different from a proofread or a copyedit?
Yes. A developmental edit addresses big-picture structure and story-level issues alongside line-level prose. A proofread or copyedit only catches surface errors. If your manuscript still needs structural work, start here.
