A WISP is a Written Information Security Plan. These are required for many organizations (businesses) compliance regulations. The US IRS is a good example.
Another reason an organization would want to develop a WISP is to show potential vendors, clients, customers, etc, that the organization takes cybersecurity seriously and therefore is a safe choice. The WISP will also allow for the potential customer to review the WISP to evaluate it against their standards. Often, the customer has cybersecurity standards and cybersecurity insurance that require this type of preparation.
If an important customer wants a WISP to cover certain topics, and to enact the security controls that would protect those areas, technical security engineering is available by the same person at Hakurity. The security controls can be verified (evidenced) in several ways.
