What will I receive?
You will receive your manuscript with inline comments or reader reactions and a separate reader report covering areas such as character development, emotional impact, pacing, plot clarity, continuity, dialogue, and overall engagement.
Is proofreading or editing included?
No. This is a beta-reading service rather than proofreading, copyediting, or line editing. I may identify noticeable errors, but I will focus primarily on the reader’s experience and the effectiveness of your story.
What file format should I submit?
Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) is preferred because it allows me to leave comments directly in your manuscript. Please contact me before ordering if you need to submit another format.
Will my manuscript remain confidential?
Yes. I will treat your manuscript as confidential and will not share, publish, reproduce, or use your work for any purpose outside of completing your order.
What genres and age categories do you accept?
I welcome most adult, young-adult, and middle-grade fiction, particularly romance, sports, mystery, adventure, fantasy, and children’s fiction. Please contact me before ordering if your manuscript contains unusually graphic sexual content, violence, or other potentially sensitive material.
Can I provide specific questions for you to answer?
Absolutely. You are welcome to include questions or areas of concern when ordering. I will address them in addition to providing my independent reactions as a reader.
Do you accept manuscripts longer than 50,000 words?
Yes, depending on my availability. Please message me with your total word count before ordering so I can provide a custom price and realistic delivery date.
Can you beta read an unfinished manuscript?
Yes. I can review an excerpt, short story, or work in progress. Please note that feedback on plot resolution, overall structure, and character arcs may be limited when the full manuscript is not available.
Can I ask questions about your feedback?
Yes. After delivery, you are welcome to ask reasonable follow-up questions if you would like clarification on any of my comments or feedback. This does not include reviewing a revised draft or providing a second beta read.
