I will book translation for indie authors
Proofreader
About this Gig
Publishing in English opens your book to the largest reading market in the world but a good translation needs to do more than convert words. It needs to keep your voice, your pacing, and the feeling readers fell in love with in the original.
I translate full-length books (fiction and non-fiction) from Portuguese to English, working closely with independent authors preparing to self-publish on Amazon KDP or similar platforms. Every translation includes a careful proofreading pass, so what you receive is ready for formatting and publication not just a rough draft.
Ideal for: independent authors self-publishing on Amazon KDP, Portuguese-language authors expanding into English-speaking markets, and writers who want a translator who treats their book with the same care they did.
What I offer:
- Full-book translation (fiction & non-fiction)
- Style and voice preservation not literal, word-for-word translation
- Chapter-by-chapter delivery available for longer projects
- Proofreading pass included before final delivery
- Optional formatting notes for KDP submission readiness

FAQ
Do you translate the entire book, or just sample chapters?
Both! You can start with a sample chapter to check the fit before committing to the full book, or send the complete manuscript for a full translation with a custom quote based on word count.
Will the translation be ready to upload directly to Amazon KDP?
The translated text will be publication-ready in terms of language, grammar, and style. I don't handle KDP formatting (like trim size or interior layout), but I'm happy to deliver the file in whatever format works best for your formatting process.
How do you make sure the translation keeps my voice and writing style?
I read through the original text first to understand your tone, pacing, and any recurring stylistic choices before starting. If you have reference authors or books whose English style you admire, sharing those helps me calibrate even further.
